About us
Kwekerij Duineveld is a family business with a long history that is now three generations old. In 2010, the former flower bulb farm was hit by a devastating fire, losing the entire company. This major event marked the beginning of a new phase.
After the fire, it was deliberately decided to stop growing flower bulbs outdoors and to fully specialize in the production of potted flower bulbs. In order to make optimal use of our greenhouses throughout the year, we started selling annual bedding plants privately in 2013.
Over the years, our nursery has grown into a well-known and familiar household name in the area. Quality, service and personal attention are always our top priority.
Our history

Gert and Ina Duineveld set up the flower bulb company on the Middenvliet in Den Helder. In the early years, the focus was on the cultivation of hyacinths, daffodils and tulips, laying the foundation for the family business that lives on to this day.
In 1994, the first large shed was built and Hans and Emine joined the company as a second generation. Under their leadership, the cultivation of bulbs will be further expanded and the family will move to the company home next to the nursery.
In 2010, the company was hit by a devastating fire. Everything is lost, with the exception of the home. This event marks a profound period in the history of the nursery. A difficult period is dawning, but the family does not allow themselves to be let down and decides to put their shoulder to the wheel immediately.
In 2011, the nursery will be completely rebuilt and will receive the current set-up. It is decided to stop growing flower bulbs outdoors and to specialize in potted bulbs. This is an important step in the further development of the company.
In 2013, Kwekerij Duineveld opened the bedding plant shop at home.
This makes use of the vacancy in the summer months and allows customers to go directly to the grower for high-quality and colorful plants.
